CIMAC British Open May 09
CIMAC British Open held on Sunday 10th May in Birmingham
In an effort to compete in every CIMAC this year I (that's me Lady Liz) decide to venture out all the way to Birmingham for the CIMAC British Open, all on my lonesome in search of more trophies. Well I say I was on my own but of course all the usual suspects were at this CIMAC event, I just mean there were no other representatives from London Warriors.
I took part in both the Semi Contact and Light Continuous divisons, after some rather exciting and hard battles I came away with a 3rd in Semi and 2nd in Light. Being the British Open I was over the moon with my results.
Thanks to Dave Ryan and Nevel Palmer for looking out and coaching me at this event. Nevel Palmer saw me without a coach in the final on the light contact category, he was refing at the time, but he managed to somehow get cover and run over to step in. I never even saw him move all I heard was his booming voice behind me guiding me what to do. I was loosing to my opponent before, but with Nevel's coaching and guidance I was getting back on top, but then simply ran out of time.
Also thanks to Tony for his constant encouragement and training\coaching which allowed me to take part and walk away with silverwear once more
Even though Tony wasn't with me I could still hear him (only LW members will understand what I mean by that).
