CIMAC WIndsor 7/2/2010
Last Sunday was the first CIMAC of the year; the event was held at the Windsor Leisure Centre. The atmosphere was buzzing, the place was filled with Martial Artists of all ages and abilities ready to display their fighting skills.
The London Warriors has three fighters taking part in the event.
First up was Michael McGreig, who had some very skilled opponents to fight against, Mike kept on pushing through making it to the quarter finals and came away with a well earned 3rd place.
Liz Ferioli was up next; Liz also had hard competitors to go against but wouldn’t let anyone stand in her way, being the first CIMAC of the year Liz was very determined to win, and win she did, coming away with the first place for her category.
Then last up was our very own Chief Instructor Tony Francis, who has been to busy with teaching and coaching of all the other London Warriors, he has not been able to compete himself for just under a year, his last competition was the Irish Open March 2009. Tony was in two minds as to whether he would fight, but as the other London Warriors fighting on this day were experienced enough to look after each other if he wasn’t available, Tony went for it, which brought great pleasure to the crowd at the CIMAC competition.
Tony put on a really great show, coming head to head with some rather large strong chaps, as he was in the over 80KG category, it was very entertaining to watch. Even though Tony was rusty to the competition ground he managed to shake up fast, showing his students that he can walk the talk, Tony made it through to the finals and walked away with a 2nd place.
