The London Warriors were invited to put on a display at South Wimbledon Community Centre, an invitation which they greatly welcomed and accepted.
Following Tony shouting out at every class for volunteers of all levels to assist at this event, we had the following very talented and skilled Warriors raise their hands to the challenge:
Debbie Slater, Rhiannon Slater, Hannah Murphy, Adam Naismith, Dean Hanley, Kalpa Shah, Michael McGreig, Elvis Summers, Andrei Demyanchuk, Aiden Claridge and of course your very own Tony Francis and Liz Ferioli
The display was about showing members of the public what the London Warriors is all about, and the students certainly did that in style on the day.
The display contained a mixture of skilled controlled light sparring by members of the fight team Adam Naismith, Dean Hanley and Liz Ferioli, as well as Mike McGreig who is working towards fight team status.
Tony Francis and Andrei Demyanchuk took the audience through some basic self defence skills
Andrei Demyanchuk then took the stage and put on a freestyle kicking display, which included kicks such as the jumping skip hook kick, jumping tournedos. Andrei was on for 5 mins giving a crowd pleasing performance, during which his feet never touched the ground.
Freestyle exhilarating hand combination pad work by Kalpa Shah, Rhiannon Slater, Debbie Slater and Aiden Claridge. Freestyle crowd thrilling leg pad work by Dean Hanley and Adam Naismith.
Freestyle skipping from basic to extreme style
Tony Francis and Elvis Summers took the stage to show off some rather intense, furious, fast and impressive Nunchaku display, which had the crowds cheering.
Last of all it was time for the crowd to get involved and have a go
This was followed by basic but impressive line work
All in All it was a VERY VERY successful display which was enjoyed by all.
Thanks to all the students who took part, very much looking forward to the next one. More photos of the event can be found on London Warriors Facebook Pages
