Mean Machine 29/03/09
Hi and welcome again to the London Warriors Freestyle Martial Arts Academy Tournament Team London Warriors took part in the Mean Machine fight night hosted by Daren Chan’s Fight Factory in Croydon.
It was an action packed evening, which featured boxing, kickboxing and K1 bouts. Representing London Warriors on this occasion were 2 up and coming and very exciting junior Warriors, 11 year old Josh Taylor and 13 year old Andrei Demyanchuk
First into the ring was Josh Taylor. This was Josh’s 2nd time representing the Warriors; he fought 2x2 minute rounds. Round 1 was an explosive and exciting round; both fighters were relentless, attacking non stop and using the ring very well.
In the 2nd sound both fighters showed a maturity in their approach to the bout using a great combinations of kicks and punches. It was a very close bout and at the end of 2 tremendously fought rounds Josh was declared the winner.
Andrei Demyanchuk’s bout was fifth on the bill, this was also Andrei’s 2nd time representing the Warriors, he put on a display that a well seasoned exponent of the martial arts would have been proud of. This bout was scheduled for 3x2 minutes round.
This bout was highly entertaining and had the audience enthralled as both fighters displayed an array of jumping, flying and spin kicks coupled with surgical accuracy and precision timing. At the end of the 3 very hard fought rounds, Andrei finished as disputed runner up.
