Cancer Research Sparathon 17th October 2009

Sparathon 1

As many of you will know Tony Francis took part in the Sparathon on the 17th October 2009 in Reading, doing over 50 rounds to help raise money for Cancer Research.

Tony didn’t care about how many rounds it was, he was just grateful to be given the opportunity to help out (that’s the sort of guy he is)

Tony did really well at the event, just continued to do round after round with no complaints, he just enjoyed every round and continued to smile throughout.

After the event his feet had massive blisters, he had a few aches and pains the following day, but other than that was in good form.

Over 76 fighters took part in the event.

A Massive Thank You to all of you who helped support the event, and raise money by sponsoring Tony at this challenge.

A Big Thank You to Tony Francis for taking the challenge and representing London Warriors FMAA.
I’m informed that the event raised over £6K, though many clubs have yet to count up how many cash they have collected. There are indications that there is another £4K to come in.

A running total of the cash collected to date can be found on Peter Felix’s (the organiser of the event) caner research donations page, link below

Thanks also to the Wimbledon Guardian for printing an article about the event, helping to bring further awareness to the cause.
