South West London Championships 11th July 2009

The South West London Championships was co – hosted by, Ninja Freestyle and Scorpion Kickboxing. The event was held in aid of rasing founds for the Daisy Garland Charity, Supporting Children with Epilepsy http://www.thedaisygarland.org.uk

London Warriors Freestyle Martial Arts Academy was invited to attend the event and entered 2

fighters Adam Naismith and Rodney James.

Adam was drawn to challenge for the vacant London Title belt in what was meant to be a light

continuous bout consisting of 3 x 2 minute rounds, against Ninja Freestyles, Ed Kelly.

At the end of round one, there were some concerns from the Warriors corner as to whether the bout

was Light Continuous or Full Contact Fight. After some deliberation and consultation between both

corners and the referee the bout was declared a no contest.

Current Only the Strong European Champion, Rodney James was drawn to pit his skills against another Ninja fighter, Andrew Jugaroo.

This bout was also set for 3 x 2 minute rounds, to challenge for the vacant Southern Area Title.

This bout was an absolute crowd pleaser as both contestants were equally matched and looked in great shape.

Both fighters took the opportunity to get the measure of each other in the opening round.

In the second round there were some great exchanges, attacks and counters from both

fighters which had the crowd on their feet.

The third round saw Rodney picking points with pinpoint accuracy using a combination of

attacking and counter strikes coupled with superb footwork

At the end of the final round, Rodney was awarded the Title of BIKMA Southern Area Champion.

All in all it was a highly successful night for the London Warriors.

At this point I would like to thank all of those who came down to support us on the night, I hope that you all enjoyed the evening events and hope to see you all at the next one WATCH THIS SPACE
