The W.O.N (Watford Open Nationals) is the first major open tournament of the year, it is attended by a number of clubs from up and down the country, London Warriors being one of them
Rodney 1st
European and Grand Champion, Rodney James demonstrated why he is a holder of the above titles, Rodney fought in the -75kg category, as always he went about his business in a relaxed professional and entertainingly manner. Rodney went on to dominate the section despatching his opponents to claim a well earned first place in what was an extremely competitive competition.
Dean 3rd
Dean did battle in the +85kg category which was a sizeable section with both familiar and unfamiliar faces. Dean set out his stall well he fought with aggression, strength and true Warrior spirit, as well as having to fight both categories at the same time, jumping from Semi Contact to Light Continuous sections without sometimes being able to take even a five second break in-between, after a very long and eventful day Dean finished 3rd in his Light Continuous section.
Adam
It was Adam’s first time in the brown and black belt category; he demonstrated an awesome display of kicking, movement and flair. With a lot of high ranking competitors in his section, Adam had a mountain to climb and he rose to the challenge very well.
Liz 3rd
Liz fought in the ladies 65kg category which had a large number of combatants with some of the countries top female fighters.
Liz showed skill and determination coupled with controlled aggression, Liz did very well to finish the tournament in 3rd place
